That Eighties Drawing Group
For a few years during the early and mid-1980s, when I lived in the Boerum Hill neighborhood of Brooklyn, I was part of a four-person drawing group with my friends Cat, Liz, and Leslie. We posed for one another just about every week at one of our apartments. We made so many drawings and had such a great time!
Eventually, I’ll take better photographs and edit them. But for now, I’m presenting a selection of these drawings in a rather raw state: push-pinned crookedly to a bulletin board, with the ripped-out spiral edge showing. I’m not sure of the exact date for every drawing, so I just listed 1982 for all of them (although the group met from 1981 through 1983 or maybe 1984).
